Summary
In New York erfuhr Journalist Lionel Page, dass das Übersinnliche real und er selbst ein Hexer ist. Als seine Freundin Maggie verschwindet, macht er sich auf die Suche nach ihr. Die Spur führt ihn zu Cordell Spears, einem Millionär, der Ausgrabungen in Griechenland finanziert und eine Ausstellung der Fundstücke plant. Als Cordell von einer Frau angegriffen wird, die ihn des Mordes an ihrem Mann, einem Archäologen, beschuldigt und ein kleines Tongefäß mit dem Namen Tisiphone bei sich trägt, wird Lionel klar, dass es bei dieser Ausstellung um mehr geht als bloßen Marmor und dass auch Maggie etwas damit zu tun hat.
