Das Königreich Begonien ist so klein, dass außer dem Königsschloss nur noch ein Gurkenbeet hineinpasst. Den königlichen Geschwistern, Prinzessin Anna Livia Maxima Plurabelle, Prinz Egbert und Prinz Isidor war dies stets ein Dorn im Auge. Doch dass ihr Königreich als Klein-Gurkistan verspottet wird, wurmt sie am meisten. So beschließen sie, übers Meer zu fahren und in der Südsee jede Menge Inseln zu erobern, damit Begonien ein großes Königreich werde.
Aber die Sache mit der Südsee hat einen Haken. Erst fahren die Eroberer in die falsche Richtung, und als sie dann endlich die richtige Richtung finden und tatsächlich Südseeinseln entdecken, sind die entweder von unangenehmen Menschen oder unangenehmen Tieren bewohnt.
