About this listen
Not only is it a great cultural subject but it's a fantastic way to learn new vocabulary, verb tenses and improve your understanding of deeper conversations. French culture is deeply engrained with poetry and this audiobook will teach you both formal and modern pronunciation.

I closed my eyes, listened and was delighted to have understood both the poem, the explanation and the biographical details of the poet. This approach encourages concentration. The story is a moving one, particularly as it’s true. The analysis and later the repetition of the poem serve to reinforce the vocabulary and ideas. The quality of the speaker’s voice, delivery, is gentle and not exaggerated. Good choice.
A very relaxing start to listening to extended French, particularly if the listener already likes poetry but that is not essential as the subject matter is human, universal and understandable. Very pleasing experience.
Developing an appreciation of listening to poetry without text is fun.
