Summary

Twenty-year-old Clementine Avery doesn't mind being called bitchy and closed off. It's safe. And after being burned by her high school sweetheart and stalked by a professor her freshman year of college, safe sounds pretty damn good.

Her number-one rule for survival? No dating. That is until she accidentally signs up for a romance writing class and needs material for her latest assignment. Sexy RA Gavin Murphy is more than happy to play the part of book boyfriend to help Clem find some inspiration, even if that means making out...in the name of research, of course.

As Gavin and Clem grow closer, they get entangled in the mystery surrounding a missing Boston University student, and Clem unwittingly becomes a possible target. Gavin tries to show Clem she can handle falling in love again, but she knows she has to be careful because her heart's at stake...and maybe even her life.

Contains mature themes.

Excellent!

This could easily be a movie for the sheer fact that it has all the feels and the sex wasn't over the top but believable. 😁❤❤❤❤

Dearest Clem

I loved this story. It’s real, it’s raw, it dives into a lot of heart ache with the sweet loving ending to fix it. I enjoyed this a ton. Gavin was absolutely swoon worthy.

Sweet Heroine and Darling Hero

Clementine certainly is brave and sweet and deep down inside, fearless. She recovers from a stalker, owns the work she contributed to her novel, and finds love at the same time. Gavin is strong enough to see to it that Clementine is loved and that she knows love herself. There are funny roommates and a ruthless redhead, making this story enjoyable and heartwarming. Because Clem and Gavin have taken strides to be stronger together and separately, I gave this book a five star rating.
One thing I would change: sometimes it was hard to tell if the narrator was quoting Clem or speaking Clem’s thoughts, but overall the performance was still outstanding.

I love this book.

The story about the romance of two young writers one is a journalist and one writes books, both in. College, both outstanding in their field one. Has a supportive family, one is rich but family support is no way close to supportive.a bad breakup,a stalker,a girl missing and loads of supportive friends make up the romantic story. Its a wonderful way to spend your reading time

i am not usually a romance reader...

usually find romance novels extremely boring and predictable. but this book has more then the meet, have sex, fall in love, stars, rainbows, and the knight in shining armour. there is mystery, a little suspense, actually make you smile or laugh, anger, and awe moments. i genuinely liked Clem and understood more then i would have liked the feelings she had when it came to trusting. Gavin is a likeable guy, he makes dumb decisions (which makes you like him more) but he is not the main character he is a wonderful bonuse. Its all about Clem and her finding her way.

easy, light and fun!

Great work of Arielle DeLisle.. I think is my first time listening to her work and I really like how she made this story more alive and more real. making the heroine Clementine more believable and deeper. I also love the work of Nelson .. I wish we had heard more of him during the story .. both narrators were great.

......

My First book by Lex Martin..

Clementine was a beautiful girl trying to make her way as a writer, she had already a published novel under a pen name but she didn't want anybody to know this, not even her own family... Life for Clementine was hard, not only was her heartbroken, she had a very creepy stalker following her every move.. also, her family didn't support her dreams making her attitude towards life and the world icier and closed off, giving her a fame of being bitchy.. but that didn't stop that every man on campus wanted her.. she was beautiful, she had a beautiful body and she had an amazing taste in fashion.. she had so many things to give but not many people care about..

Gavin was a handsome, funny guy. he was helping Clementine to write and have more ideas about romance novels.. as she was taking a class that was booked by mistake and she really wasn't fond of.. The more Gavin and Clementine hang out together,
the more their feelings intensify.. she keeps fighting these feelings, she keeps putting walls after so much fear and memories from her past, a past that only brings her pain and sorrow.. she is not sure if she is ready to love again but Gavin is here to make all these unpleasant feelings go away... he is the only one who knows how to rescue this beautiful girl from her own..

So many other things happening in this story, I really don't want to give much away but there are a few twists and also a few other characters that are going to give a hard time to Gavin and Clementine.. both characters grow so much towards the end of the story, showing how hard they finally fought against everything and everybody who wanted to keep them apart in some way or another..

Overall, The story of Gavin and Clementine.. is a nice story that is full of good moments and love.. if you're looking for an easy read, something light with a few funny touches here and there Dearest Clementine is a good choice..

A sexy, swoony, emotional ride!

I’ve heard so many rave reviews about this series, and I decided it was time to dive in and experience it for myself. And I get it now: this story was completely addicting. It’s perfectly narrated and I was sucked right in. The storytelling is completely on point an I kept finding myself drawn back to it, making excuses to listen when I should have been doing something else.

I wasn’t sure what to make of Clementine aT first and it took me a little bit to warm to her. Gavin, on the other hand was a completely swoonworthy hero - I adored him and I ultimately adored who Clementine was when she was with him. They were perfect together and my heart wrapped itself around them completely.

There’s a mystery threaded through this love story, and that doesn’t always work for me in romance books. It worked well here though, and I found myself on the edge of my seat, skin pebbled with chills at some points. The ending was perfect, and my heart is so full! It is certain that I’ll be back for more of this sweetness.

5+Stars

I really enjoyed this book. The only thing that could have made the book better is if we had more of Gavin's POV. All the bits and pieces came together beautifully the maintained a dull angst throughout making it hard to stop listening. Clementine was everything I wanted in a character emotionally real in many ways. Gavin well he is the perfect book boyfriend. What I like best about their story was I felt like we really got to see the relationship being build. It wasn't the instalove you get were the guy sees what he wants and sexes her into submission. You get to know the couple and why they work. The book has a borderline YA feel to it's worth the listen for sure.
