Summary

Heinrich von Kleist wurde am 18. Oktober 1777 in Frankfurt/Oder geboren. Er schlug zunächst die Offizierslaufbahn ein, begann später sein Studium der Rechtswissenschaften und unternahm Reisen durch Frankreich und die Schweiz. In Dresden gründete er 1808 die Zeitschrift "Phöbus", in der einige seiner Dramen und Erzählungen erschienen. Am 21. November 1811 nahm er sich am Wannsee bei Berlin das Leben.
