Amira Brindonu Fanduillion has been crowned alongside her husband, the rightful heir to the Erymayan Empire. Fantastic fantasy world - start with Dainsreths assassin and enjoy! Really enjoyed all of them - and I’m off to read the Thadred spin off!

Wonderful Series

The plot speeds ahead. The beginning of the book moves a bit more slowly, while the last part really steams ahead to the ending. The main story is the action plot, which continues to have a horror like component. The romance part of the plot doesn’t dominate, if that is what you want, you’ll be disappointed.

The main characters continue not being the most interesting in the story - that honour definitely goes to the secondary character Thadred, charming, funny and happily never perfect. The misguided villainess is definitely the most baffling of the story.

The language is getting more interesting as the tale grows, the author is more creative, making the story more pleasant to partake of.

The author’s reading has become quite nice, and the way the author brings the variety of the cythraol to life is impressive.

As a whole, the series is definitely amusing with room for improvement.

The world building isn’t very complex - it doesn’t feel like a real place, you never fancy smelling the forests or that you feel the cobblestones beneath your feet. You never get the impression that there is an interesting prehistory to explore.

The main characters aren’t complex enough to be really interesting, they are too much a Heroine and her Hero. In comparison the secondary character Thadred is so much more engaging with all his imperfections.

A plot where the villain (who is a villainess) isn’t just a very uninteresting generic Evil Villain is always welcome - but I am never convinced by this particular villain’s strange goals. She is an educated, reasonably intelligent, loving and loyal, seasoned wielder of political power… Why does she make the choices she does? The story contends itself with a “because she does” type of answer, and that feels profoundly unsatisfactory.

The story has several narrative causalities that need to be ignored for the story to be enjoyable - for example why the villain is directed to an ancient temple’s fountain instead of going straight to Moreyne’s Mirror.

The tale isn’t perfect, but it entertaining. And it has Lleuad, the dangerously charming kelpie

I liked the story (not to complicated) but sweet. Audio still has to be cleaned up a bit.

I loved the story and the characters are beautifully written. the evolution of the relationships and no obvious"bad guy" (so much moral grey!) is an interesting twist.
BUT: I know that the narrator for this book is the author and I love her online content but her delivery is so monotone that I nearly didn't finish the series. I'm in the UK so getting a paper copy of this book is tricky but the reading is so dull that I nearly bit the bullet and bought it. Please rerecord at some point with a fanatic narrator that your books deserve (better yet a male/ female duo to highlight the dual narrative)
