About this listen

The definitive insider's history of the genetic revolution--significantly updated to reflect the discoveries of the last decade.

James D. Watson, the Nobel laureate whose pioneering work helped unlock the mystery of DNA's structure, charts the greatest scientific journey of our time, from the discovery of the double helix to today's controversies to what the future may hold. Updated to include new findings in gene editing, epigenetics, agricultural chemistry, as well as two entirely new chapters on personal genomics and cancer research. This is the most comprehensive and authoritative exploration of DNA's impact--practical, social, and ethical--on our society and our world.

the subject knowledge is deep, well articulated and clearly put across. the authors are not especially engaging or exciting in their style. Expect to be impressed but not enchanted. Probably the least interesting yet fascinating book I've listened to... yet I loved it!

a comprehensive and thorough review of genetics

I've started "reading" audio books to relax while I listen.
Like most people I have an interest in DNA.
This book tells a compelling story of discovery and meaning and opened my eyes to some of the possibilities for the future (politics permitting).
I strongly recommend this book and plan to read it again.

Kept my attention all the way to the end

Very listenable and unwinds the nuts and bolts of an extraordinary molecule of information.

A great panoramic survey of the DNA revolution
