My wife and I have been listening to a few audiobooks recently on the topic of cultivating container gardens in our home. We are looking to maximize the limited space that we have. We really enjoyed listening to "DIY Container Gardening: Cultivating Your Compact Eden - Harvesting Fresh Food and Lush Beauty, Regardless of Space" as it provided us with exactly what we were looking for. This book covers how to plan your garden, which healthy soil is best to use, natural ways to eliminate pests, and so much more. We really liked Chapter 7 that covers in detail harvesting and storing your fresh food which to me is an important step that can't be ignored.

I live in a small apartment with no yard, but this audiobook showed me how to have a beautiful garden on my balcony! It's easy to understand, even for someone like me who's never gardened before. I learned about soil, planting, and even how to deal with pests naturally. Now, I have fresh herbs and veggies right outside my door. I couldn't have said it better. The idea of starting our own gardens and growing our own food is, well, written in our ancestry and it's as normal as breathing. We've gotten away from it, but there is an "instinct" to get back to it.

I particularly liked the section on "advanced techniques". Succession planting, companion planting, and propagation. The author does a great job at opening up your mind to what's possible, even in containers!
