Great performance
The reviews for this book are easily found on the Internet, since it came out in 2012 ("goodreads" has a lot of them). Being the first novel in a series, it ends with a cliffhanger.
The performance is undoubtedly fantastic. Very professional and clear, I'm not a native speaker but I could understand it perfectly, so I suggest this audiobook to anyone who looks for nice stories narrated with passion and sentiment. If you are not sure, you can check his raw reading of "The secret garden" for free on youtube.

A Real Series of Adventures
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to hear this book but i am so glad I did. The story telling is taut and I found it difficult to stop listening and do what I had to do away from it.
The start of the story gives no indication of where the adventures will take Marcus, the hero. Nor of how far he and others would have to travel.
It is the first book in a series so while it resolves the original difficulties faced by Marcus and those around him, the ending promises so many more adventures.
I am really looking forward to reading/hearing the next book. The excellent narration greatly added to my enjoyment.
I received a free copy of this audio book from the author and I am so glad I did.

Thrilling blend of action, romance and adventure!
Give this compelling story a listen, you won't be disappointed!
Not only is it an exciting tale of a fantastical and imaginative world with some very convincing characters brought vividly to life by Steven Garnett's superb narration, but it also holds many messages for our own world today.
I have been totally absorbed and am thrilled that this is only the first book of a trilogy. Can't wait for the audiobook of Spirit of the Spirit Witch!

Sensitive, Emphatetic, and Entertaining.
This is a well written story that develops its characters, male and female, in a realistic and compelling fashion.
This is ultimately a coming of age story where the boy is not some prophesied hero who need to overcome his dark past through sheer will. Marcus overcomes his past through the compassion and emphatic of those around him.

Ice Dragons and Romance--with fun World Building
I've loved this book. It was a lot of fun. It's a bit more of a Fantasy Romance, though not over the top. It's got an awesome ice dragon and two cursed children. One is cursed to be a hunter--the other is cursed to be an injured weakling his whole life. And then there is the ice people. The plot is fun, and the characters are interesting. And the big reveals at the end of the book have been great. It has complex races and ecosystems, and some pretty fantastic world building. The narrator does a fantastic job with the audio book. I'll definitely be checking out the rest of this series.

An Epic Quest
Markus is the Mighty Hunter and the pride of his father and the village. But he's full of himself and a bad decision changes the course of his life. Throughout the story he grows and changes quite a bit as he discovers hidden truths and a core of inner strength. Lots of action, twists and turns, and hints of romance. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life and putting emotion into the story.

EXCITING!
Loved how there was excitement. I like a story when it is full of action with well rounded characters. The story delivered just this.
The narrator was fantastic with the voices of each character with great sound effects to go with whatever was going on in the story.
I do recommend this Audible to anyone looking forward to a great story.

a decent story and interesting world
over all I have to say I enjoyed the story. I did have a few things that bothered me. the whole cruel hunter thing never felt right, we only saw him as cruel to animals once or twice and it was not till past half way he admits to more which felt iffy to me. more so when we found out why he was truly cursed. beyond that the main character well interesting barely felt like a main character at least to me. I can't go into why will out spoiling so I wont.
still these complaints out of the way I enjoyed. I liked the romance, some of the world building deeply interests me.
so if you like light hearted fantasy or YA or maybe something to listen to with your kid or younger sibling try it out.
