Summary

Steven Drury, a respectable barrister, is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Returning to his car after a late-night party, he is knocked to the ground. He catches a clear glimpse of his assailant’s face when the man opens his car door to flee. It is enough for him to identify his attacker, Daniel Fitch, in a police line-up. But, unluckily for Drury, Fitch was running from a robbery gone wrong, one in which he murdered a jeweller. Fitch isn’t going to go down without a fight. He’s determined to make Drury change his evidence, by any means possible. Soon, Drury is faced with a terrible dilemma: perjure himself and ruin his legal career, or allow an innocent girl to die…

More fun to be had from watching paint dry

Quite frankly the biggest load of tosh that I have ever spent money on. Terrible (if any) research into how a criminal investigation and trial would proceed, and when compared to other crime writers left painfully wanting. To be fair I'm sure the book was not helped by such a tedious reader without any flair for his chosen profession. Do yourself a favour and save the £12 or so quid for a few pints the weekend.
