Summary
Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of The Doll's House, the third installment of the Detective Inspector Helen Grace series by M. J. Arlidge, read by Elizabeth Bower and Scott Joseph.
A woman wakes. Immediately she knows she's not in the bed in which she slept. It's just the beginning of her nightmare.
Across town a child discovers a woman's body buried beneath the beach. Then another victim is found. Neither friends nor family had even reported either woman missing. How could their killer be getting away with murder?
It's chilling evidence that Detective Inspector Helen Grace is hunting a monster who's not just twisted but clever and careful. And as Helen struggles to understand the killer's motivation, she realizes that time might be running out for someone still alive....

Amazing story, soured by narrator.
Narrator can manage a pretty decent Irish accent but can't be bothered to learn how to say Roisín properly. Drove me absolutely batty throughout. it's ROW-sheen, not Ra-SHEEN. 🙄

I bought this after listening to the first 2 books and I enjoyed this book more than the first 2.
Great story kept me listening to find out what happened next! Nice easy listening - will be off to get the next one which I see has just come out - hopefully will get better still!

Great book
What made the experience of listening to The Doll's House the most enjoyable?
I really enjoyed this book. I have listened to books 1 & 2 & loved the storytelling. DI Helen Grace is a good character with a not so good past. The narrators are very good too which makes listening more enjoyable. If you like detective stories then you will like this series of books.

Great series
Having read Eeny Meeny And Pop goes the Weasel this is the third book where we meet DI Helen Grace and her Team. It begins when a body is found on the beach and thereafter they are on the hunt of a serial killer.
I love these books as the hero is female and jealousy of her female boss adds another element. Great characters and good narrator.
If you like a good detective novel look no further but I would start the series in the correct order so you get to know the characters.
Excellent waiting for the next installment!

The Doll's House (Helen Grace #3)
So, this is my fourth episode of DI Helen Grace's life (book #6 was a DOTD, hence why I listened to it out of sequence). I enjoyed it, I really did, but isn't author MJ Arlidge getting a bit samey with his plots? Young beautiful women being kidnapped and tortured gets a bit wearing after a while.
I must admit that the slightly soapy activities going on within Southampton Central's CID Department are a little far-fetched, but I would imagine is ultimately aimed at the televised market? It's entertaining though and I will be purchasing the other books in the series.
The narrator, Elizabeth Bowers, was excellent throughout.
