Publisher's Summary

A gripping new psychological thriller from the best-selling author of While My Eyes Were Closed.

Status update: you have 18 months left to live....

On a wet Monday in January, Jess Mount receives the devastating news that she hasn't got long left to live. She doesn't hear it from a doctor, though. She discovers it when her Facebook timeline skips forward 18 months and family and friends start posting tributes to her - following her death.

As Jess reads the heartbreaking posts from her loved ones, who are struggling to come to terms with her loss, she finds photos of a gorgeous baby son she has not yet conceived. Jess is instantly besotted with him. But when her best friend then claims that her death wasn't an accident, Jess is left wondering who, if anyone, she can trust. With time running out, Jess realises the only certain way to save her own life is to sacrifice that of the baby boy she has fallen in love with.

Great concept, but finishes very quickly. I'd like to have had a few more chapters to answer the how questions

    "It was ok"

I kind of worked out the ending wasn't really a big twist , also the fb messages who or what did that ? Did they continue ? The storyline was good but long drawn out scenes in the middle that didn't really go anywhere to be honest . The ending was short and sweet could have explained more .

"Will I Go or Will I Stay"
If you could sum up After I've Gone in three words, what would they be?

    Great main character

What did you like best about this story?

The supernatural nature of the story where Jess Mount can see message on Facebook which happen in the future.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

When Jess Mount's father gave her a letter written by her mother before she died and was to only be opened on a specific time in the future.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I found Jess reading the letters her late mother had written to her, to only be opened at specific events in her life made me quite choked. Some of the scenes with Jess's best friend, equally as down to earth as she is, made me smile.

    Any additional comments?

I loved this book, right up to the final chapter which I thought was a total cop out by the writer. I know it would have been impossible to provide an ending which explained how Jess was seeing messages from the future, so I suppose the author just left it to us to work out our own explanation and I'm still trying to find one.

"Not quite sure what to make of this book"

It was gripping at the start - middle was boring - end was lacking answers and conclusion. The books description makes it sound really interesting but .... I dunno .... maybe I just missed something?

    "Loved it. Very unique"

Only the second book I've written a review on as after listening to the same types of stories all the time, they get predictable, still enjoyable, but there's no wow factor. This was different and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Listened over a day and a half. The characters were well presented, the story was a breath of fresh air and I absolutely loved the narrators performance. 5 stars

Some people may struggle as it flicks from time & person. But stick with it.

I am obsessed with books! I consume them the way that other people consume air, or turkey on Christmas day.

    "It was alright"
Would you try another book written by Linda Green or narrated by Emmy Rose and Helen Lloyd ?

I'm not sure I would, no.

What could Linda Green have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I think the book needed a stronger ending. I also think the book cover is quite confusing. The story had a good strong start but then I felt it just sort of trundled along, and limped to the end, there were so many opportunities to take this book down twists and turns, I think with a little more TLC it could have been great.

Did Emmy Rose and Helen Lloyd do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?

    Yes I think they did.

Do you think After I've Gone needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    No.

Really enjoyed this book, good, well thought out characters and a nice modern twist! The narrators were both good as well!
