It’s a solid sequel where interesting things happen throughout, but I’ve gotta read the next one to know how I feel about the series as a whole.

Fortunately, it’s out this month (30th July 2024) so I don’t have to wait long.

Update: I have read the next one and I’m feeling confident about the series.

Once again from start to finish it was captivating. The way this is written makes you feel as if you are the character. The tension and story was all there.

A large chunk of this book feels like a training montage and setting up for the next book. Doesn't quite feel like enough story to stand on its own. I'll give the next one a go and see how we get on but it is a bit of a drop off.
