Wow, what a book! This guide explores the worst possible situations and provides thoughtful and meaningful solutions to battle any toxicity you might experience. Some of the situations explained in the book have actually happened to me and I didn't realize they were categorized as a "toxic workplace". The highlighted tips could even apply to a fresh college graduate that might not have experienced any of these situations yet in their career. If you or anyone you know have any feelings of burnout towards their jobs, look no further - this is the book for you! Highly recommend!

The problems were presented first and then the solutions were explored. I really like that the book was laid out this way because not everyone is dealing with the same issues. The book helps you to identify toxic situations and then toxic people separately. I really like the author didn't place blame on external factors and instead acts the reader to assess and take logistical action. The voice was soothing - mid-energy, which seemed appropriate for the topic.

The author very clearly has had experience in a toxic work environment. I have too, and unfortunately it was long before I listened to this book. One of the most important aspects of surviving in an unhealthy work environment, is strict boundaries. This book does a great job explaining how, why and when to set them.

As a person who has dealt with workplace narcissism, knowing how widespread and common the abuse can be, it is so important to learn how to handle this personality type. Narcissists leave you questioning your own sanity, and when you are trapped in a workplace with one, knowing how to handle them to keep yourself and your mental health in check is the only way to avoid burnout.

If you value your career and want to keep it along with your health, this is an excellent guide with great ideas to get you to a place of empowered decisions and boundaries.
