About this listen

Bloomsbury presents Completely Normal and Totally Fine, written and read by Rosie Viva.

"Rosie has transformed her bipolar journey into a superpower, inspiring and creating a safe space for others - she's an inspiration" Dua Lipa

"An unflinching insight into the challenges of living with bipolar" Bipolar UK

"Insightful, powerful and uplifting" Adrienne Adhami, author of Power Hour and Decisions that Matter

In 2018, model Rosie Viva was arrested after she caused Stansted Airport to evacuate all its waiting passengers following a psychotic episode. After the incident, she was hospitalised, sectioned and diagnosed with bipolar disorder - a dramatic moment that would alter the course of her life.

In this moving memoir, Rosie opens up about the unique experience of being 'normal' and 'fine', whilst dealing with the delusions, mania and depression that bipolar brings. Navigating love, work and life while in recovery, she shares how she learned to embrace a ‘new normal’ and left the world of modelling behind to become a mental health advocate.

Completely Normal and Totally Fine shines light on living with a complex mental health condition that's often misunderstood and underdiagnosed, inspiring us to shed the stigma around mental health and open up about our messy minds too.©2025 Rosie Viva (P)2025 Bloomsbury Publishing Plc

Seems very self indulgent and the author very entitled- stopped listening after she started being patronising about the staff who tried to help her and criticised said nurses ability to do her job.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! This is my first review, for my favourite book so far. I flew through it and didn't want it to finish. I always prefer a book to be narrated by the author and Rosie did a stellar job of her book. Bipolar 1 was explained so personally by Rosie and succinctly. It was both relentlessly painful and humourous too. It led me to watch her documentary, and pursue the books that she recommended, of which she read whilst exploring her bipolar. It was fortunate that Rosie had such a supportive family and friends throughout her diagnosis and bipolar episodes. Along with excellent mental health care. Although Rosie has to manage her extreme fluctuating rollercoaster episodes, she has managed to gain a good understanding of her condition. All in all a fascinating account, and very educational. Thank you Rosie!

The best personal account of bipolar 1!
