About this listen

 A soldier wounded in the Civil War, Inman turns his back on the carnage of the battlefield and begins the treacherous journey home to Cold Mountain, and to Ada, the woman he loved before the war began.

I cannot fathom how somone could write so well but have the most flat boring delivery of reading

I believe this novel will have at least some sort of influence on whoever reads it. The story contrasts itself constantly. Hopeful and heartwarming one second and then completely devastating the next. It's gritty and realistic.
