This would be useful to b someone considering therapy for the first time. It does have enough depth to substitute for therapy, which is a good things, but does give insight into the what and why of certain techniques.

This is just a fantastic book for anyone who is just becoming famaliar with CBT. I will always refer back to it. I am still reading it but so far it has offered me insight into how a session using CBT would look like step by step. A must have for any bookshelf.

Almost like getting individual supervision

Very good introduction to CBT. You are walked through the subject and process from basics to more detailed issues and there is a wealth of exercises to try out and work on. A neat, well presented little audiobook- well worth a look.

I really like this book and I'm all for self-help

.I really enjoyed the approach this book takes. It encourages you to go through slowly, one chapter per week, doing the exercises and really thinking about how you feel and why you feel that way. The book encourages you to change aspects of your thinking and your behavior by suggesting alternative ways of being. A lot of the material proved to be an eye opener for me. It is essential that the listener takes the time to write down their thoughts as requested throughout the book. Take the time to review these notes as you progress through the book, you will learn a lot.
