Excellent narration as well

It is a great guide on how to use cognitive behavioral therapy to essentially retrain your brain. As humans, we have a whole lot going on in our minds. Our minds are responsible for just about everything that is going on inside our bodies; whether we are aware of it or not.

Excellent

With the help of this guide I also learnt that CBT can also be used for mentally healthy people to increase their productivity, overall satisfaction in life and solve specific problems in different spheres of life and just master their cognitive and emotional state. It was an interesting read and full of helpful advices.

It’s perfect

Think it will be helpful for them in addition to their doctor's recommendations and treatment plan. For the record, I do not struggle with anxiety or depression, but I am also finding this book helpful.

Pleasantly surprised

I would suggest pairing this book with individual studies and meta-analyses of CT's effectiveness in different mental health realms. So much of the information was repetitive for me, but the book was very thorough and would be wonderful for anyone just beginning their clinical journey and practicing the use of CBT.

Great intro

It really goes into details of specific techniques like the downward arrow, rational-emotional role play, evidence testing etc, and there's a lot of scripts of real session to illustrate them.

Totally neat!

This book helped me realize how seeing things in a positive rather than a negative way can really make an impact in your life. As the book mentions, this is not going to resolve all of your issues but it is definitely a great first step.

Great Introduction to CBT

the book contains a lot of information about intrusive thoughts, which myself and millions of other people deal with on a daily basis. The author makes it very clear that we shouldn't avoid situations that tend to trigger our intrusive thoughts because doing so will only serve to create even more anxiety surrounding the situation and make it worse.

A very simple

Almost anyone, and I mean anyone, will find this book beneficial. It encourages one to seek professional help in certain more serious circumstances. I could describe this as the flesh and bone behind any self-help program.

Excellent approach and information

it's an interesting no-nonsense approach that I'd never even heard of before. It's well worth checking out, especially if (like me), your former impression of psychotherapy is Freudian mumbo-jumbo.

This book is very good

Being a nurse, the scientific literature that supports CBT was/is very important to me.I'm really glad I picked up this bookOur brains are so efficient, that they can learn a new habit, and often times it can become like second nature to us if we practice it enough.
