Enjoyable short story

Although this book was quite short it felt like a nice introduction to the main character and did leave me wanting to find out more about her life and her future escapades. The narration was fine and probably in line with the main characters personality, though sometimes could feel a little whiney but nothing that was too distracting. Overall enjoyable and fun.

Chocolate and clues what more could you want

This is a fun quick light hearted cozy mystery. No violence or sex scenes so perfect to have on if there are little ears listening. It is short so great for car rides, it seem to be a prequel or start to a new series and hints at better things to come. I think Melody Clue is going to be a great character. Melody is hired by two women to follow there fiancee to find out if they are cheating on them before the big day, if differing results. The narrator was good and puts a lot of emotion into her voice while reading. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Time for a stake out

Melody Clue is a new Meredith Potts private investigator! I am so excited to start this series. She is a little different from her other main characters, Melody is hired to do detective work. This first case is one of infidelity, and she is off to stake out her perpetrator. Melody is a serious character and I love her compassion for her clients. Her mother adds a lightness to the story with her witty personality and we get a quick look at her new interest, Scott. And of course, as in true Meredith Potts style, we enjoy our sweets! I look forward to seeing more from Melody. Stephanie Quinn begins the narration of this series with her fun and quirky performances.

Chocolate, Clues, and Catastrophe

Melody is a PI in her little home town. Her BFF owns her own bakery where she loves to go to help with the treats. This one day when she shows up she's told that Scott is back. It's been 4 years since she's seen him. So she sends a text to touch base. But her new case, delving into a woman's fiance's life, gets in the way. She discovers that not all is as it seems. To top it off her mother is on her case about getting married and is in match making mode, or at least trying to be. Stephanie Quinn is as always a fantastic narrator who brings each character to life. Fantastic audio and story.

Earns 5/5 Cookies...Light Entertainment!

Cozy mysteries need not be long and complex with disturbing villains and clever protagonists; they should, however, be entertaining. Meredith Potts has provided just that in her Majestic Cove series: short, entertaining cozy with a bit of villainy and to precipitate justice, a nice, endearing lead, realistically struggling with her weight and husband searching. Melody Jane Clue is a private investigator whose motivation is to “help people, solve mysteries, uncover secrets, and bring the truth to light, “ but she recognizes the financially compensation wasn’t bad, however inconsistent at times. Her current cases focus on possible pre-wedding infidelities (Working late?), so her stake out leads to irrefutable answers, but no murders. Stephanie Quinn’s narrating is enjoyable as she goes beyond a traditional reading out loud to portray Melody’s perspective and inner voice. She changes her tone and dialect to represent additional personalities, emotions, and gender; she did adequate job on male voices. The drama is light, some might find it too light, with interesting reminiscences of Melody’s family and friends. A former love returns home which caused a bit of a series cliffhanger. Nice and sweet. I enjoyed it. Disclosure: I received a code from the author. My review is voluntary with honest insights and comments.

Melody Clue: PI with Common Sense

This was the first short story with the character Melody Clue. She's a witty, logical, relatable character. While there's no cliffhanger, there is a lead-in to the next story. I enjoyed a woman character close to my age and not a 20 something I had nothing in common with. She has no reluctance sticking to her guns when she knows she's right. As in all of her performances, the narrator just does nothing for me. I'm not sure what it is, but I wish someone else could do Meredith Potts books.

Enjoyable read

Chocolate, Clues, and Catastrophe (Melody Clue #1), my forty-second short read from author Meredith Potts, Another cute, well-written & enjoyable clean cozy mystery, the first in this new series. Well-written & enjoyable, another cute, clean cozy mystery. I was been given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. AS in so many of her audiobooks, Stephanie Quinn’s talented narration adds to the book's enjoyment. I look forward to reading Pretzels, Problems, and Peril, the next in this series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Quick cozy listen

This was a cute cozy mystery that was the perfect escape. It was clearly the beginning of a series and I can’t wait to read or listen to the next in the series. The narrator did an ok job but wasn’t one of my favorites. I didn’t like the stilted way that she spoke, especially when attempting to voice a male character. I received this audiobook for free, but the opinion in the review is mine.

A Good Clean Mystery

This is a well developed mystery with Melody Clue P.I.. This is the first in a series and the murder takes place in Mystery Cove. Melody is hired to investigate. The characters are well developed, likeable and believable. Stephanie Quinn does a great job narrating this story. I enjoyed this book with my friends daughter. I love that Ms. Potts staries are clean and can be shared with our family. I recommend this book.

With a name like clue, what else could she do?

It strikes me that there doesn't seem to be a explanation for the stars that are given. So I thought I'd start giving my take on it. 1 horrible no redeeming qualities. 2 ok there are redeeming qualities, worth reading. 3 good worth reading, or well written but not my cup of tea. 4 great but there's something off. 5 loved it. So now about this story. A good beginning for a series. I couldn't stop listening, but then it's short. The audio version runs under 1 hour 15 minutes. I can't wait for more of this series. A good book, and I do look forward to the next part. I want to say more about this story but I absolutely hate spoilers, so I won't go into it. It also ends cliffhangerish which I dislike. The narrator brought the story to life, drawing me in. I've recently had several conversations with people that have said that one of the things they'd like to see in a review is if I'd read/listen to it again. So I'm now adding that to my reviews. So yes I think I'll listen again probably binge listening to the series when I have several. Reasons I enjoyed this book: Wonderful characters, Page-turner, Great world building, Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Funny. Bookshelves/tags: clean, cliffhanger, contemporary, humorous, mystery, open-ended, series, sweet. This audio book was given to me for free at my request from the publisher or author or narrator and I provided this unbiased voluntary review.
