Great listen
Whilst I can understand some reviews comments about Burt’s voice / dialogue and it being a little difficult to hear it certainly doesn’t spoil what is a great listen. You can hear a lot of emotion in his voice at times and it must have been cathartic doing this. When listening I was saddened to see Burt had died some 3 yrs ago you always feel like these stars will live forever I highly recommend

You can’t beat a good life story read by the author...
.. and this is no exception. Some fantastic stories about some of Hollywood’s biggest names all told by Burt himself. And when the author is telling his own story, you are usually awarded with that little bit of emotion that can only be added by those who took part. Brilliant and also emotional. Burt didn’t sound like he was in the best of health narrating this book. It’s almost like his last goodbye. Highly recommended. Brilliant book.

A very difficult listen.
Not because of the subject matter but because of his delivery. He mumbles, whispers and grumbles. I'd recommend playing it on a faster speed and not being too invested. I believe he was on death's door when he recorded it. Basically, he sometimes has a fight and did some acting. Buy it!

Great man but......
Terrible annoying narration. Sounds like he is whispering, with indigestion, on his back, trying not to burp whilst doing a crap impression of that toyah twot singer from the 80's. Why couldn't he just read the ducking book properly?

Worth a second listen!
There were some thoughts and anecdotes I’d heard before but that was no matter. A humble man who spoke more about others more than himself as the title hints at. Stories of interactions with stars were very entertaining, but the touching admiration he displayed for various people was so warming. Plenty of emotion in his voice, which is sometimes quiet but that’s what volume button is for, didn’t spoil things for me. I for one loved watching him having fun in all those “crap” movies so rest easy Burt.

Burt Reynolds Hollywood legend
listening to Burt Reynolds tell his life story near to the end of his life. I found it pretty emotional...the movies he made, the failed marriages..the love for his estranged son...really recommended

I really enjoyed his reading (eventually)
Any additional comments?
It took a while to get used to his reading style (as mentioned in other reviews) however rough he does bring a lot of emotion into the reading. What is more annoying is the page rattling throughout the recording you can often hear as he leafs through onto the next piece of paper (it sounds like he's reading from a big old manuscript rather than a book).
Interesting to hear about his experiences across the films we know and love.
