Summary

David Fisher spent three years busking his way around Europe and beyond, including nearly every country in the EU. From run-ins with the Azerbaijani police force to being given free tickets to Bruce Springsteen concerts; from wild camping on beaches in the Arctic Circle to joining a Celtic folk ban in Armenia, this is his story.

The audiobook is interspersed with songs from the album of the same name - an album that will "delight the listener, particularly if accompanied by a reading of the book" (Folk Monthly) as well as "adroitly capturing the beauty, magic and unpredictable thrill of life on the road" (Fix Magazine).

Refreshing

Excellent book all round. Very happy to have found it. Written by a well spoken, hard drinking, atheist, humanist, guitar playing Brit with wanderlust - what more could you ask for? The production is very well done, and doesn't feel amateurish at all. David is a very endearing character, 'sympathique', which can be deduced from the number of instant comrades he attracts during his adventures. He has a cosmopolitan outlook, and probably does more as a goodwill ambassador for the UK than a whole squad of diplomats put together. I will keep my eyes open for any sequels...
