Story
In Full Dark House, Christopher Fowler tells the story of both the first and last case of an unlikely pair of crime fighters - and how along the way they changed the face of detection. A present-day bombing rips through London and claims the life of 80-year-old detective Arthur Bryant. For his partner John May, it means the end of a partnership that lasted over half a century and an eerie echo back to the Blitz of World War II when they first met. Desperately searching for clues, May finds his friend’s notes of their first case....

Story
The Peculiar Crimes Unit has solved many extraordinary cases over the years, but some were hushed up and hidden away. Until now. Arthur Bryant remembers these lost cases as if they were yesterday. Here, then, is the truth about the Covent Garden opera diva and the 17th reindeer, the body that falls from the Tate Gallery, the ordinary London street corner where strange accidents keep occurring, the consul’s son discovered buried in the unit’s basement, the corpse pulled from a swamp of Chinese dinners....

Story
One Sunday morning, the outspoken speaker of the House of Commons steps out of his front door only to be crushed under a mountain of citrus fruit. Bizarre accident or something more sinister? The government needs to know because here's a man whose knowledge of parliament’s biggest secret could put the future of the government at stake. It should be the perfect case for Bryant and May and the Peculiar Crimes Unit, but unfortunately one detective is in hospital, the other is missing and the staff have all been dismissed.

another triumph
Would you consider the audio edition of Bryant & May and the Bleeding Heart to be better than the print version?
I've never read this series, I came across them on Audible and the narration brings the characters to life so well that I couldn't imagine them without Tim Goodman's simply perfect voices. It's like coming home and getting into your most comfy pj's.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Bryant & May and the Bleeding Heart?
There's no one particular part the whole book is a joy
Which character – as performed by Tim Goodman – was your favourite?
I've always loved Bryant, he's my favourite.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I'm not a person who can listen to anything all in one go. However, I listen in the car, doing housework, cooking..whenever I can
Any additional comments?
I actually read the penultimate book first as I didn't realise it was a series. I then started from the beginning and it didn't affect my enjoyment of the books at all. They are wonderful and I hope there are many instalments to come, with the excellent narration of Tim who brings all the characters to life.

Mysterious Crime Team Who You Just Let Reel You In
This is the first Bryant & May Book I've come across... What a Hidden Gem!
I've always loved reading & watching anything which begins with a mystery and trying to work out along the way how too solve it & along with like minded readers of this genre have read Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, Wilkie Collins & many other revered authors & to tell the truth I never thought I'd find another author who could hold my interest in this way & then BANG along comes Christopher Fowlers "Bryant & May" ....
I purchased this from the Audible daily deal at a reduced price, believe you me I will be investing in the whole series I was so delighted with this wonderful find!!!
Tim Goodman who narrates does a marvelous job not only keeping you hooked listening but manages to give each character their own voice, therefore helping to create an image in your mind of how they appear...
I dont like elaborating on any books contents as I find the synopsis does enough to give a little peek of the enjoyment too come :-)

Like meeting old friends
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I discovered Bryant and May by accident a few years ago and have listened to all available
This latest one is amongst the very best of them
What did you like best about this story?
As with the other B&M books the characters are paramount
in this book the plot draws you in with mystery and humour
Have you listened to any of Tim Goodman’s other performances? How does this one compare?
Tim Goodman creates images of all the characters so much so that when I read a B&M book I hear his voice as I read
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes
Any additional comments?
Read these books in order if you can I listened to Seven Clocks and was hooked then went back to the begining

Still not sure
Where does Bryant & May and the Bleeding Heart rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
While I quite enjoyed it in the end, I'm not sure I would listen to another Bryant & May story.
Have you listened to any of Tim Goodman’s other performances? How does this one compare?
No, this is the first one and I thought it a good performance overall. He caught the different characterisations well.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Not especially.
Any additional comments?
When I first started listening I didn't think I would want to finish it but slowly but surely I was pulled in by the story. I listen to a lot of different types of audio books but I'm not entirely sure whether I will listen to another Bryant & May story, at least not for a time. There is much better listening out there I think for me. That's not to say it was bad or boring but it did take me a long time to get into it.

Another good read .
As always another story full of characters you can picture, with twists, interesting London stories snd s bit of comedy. I love these Bryant and May books and can't wait for the next one. The reader is perfect and should not be changed as his voices become the characters you know from book to book. I especially love the Bryant character, who would not be the character he is without May, which is rather the point I think, however along the way the other characters have grown as well and therefore the books are as much about them as is the intrigue of the plots.

Difficult to review
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Yes. My feeling was that the dynamic of the plot dropped around the middle of the book. It happened once before with Bryant and May (the memory of blood) but quickly picked up. Here, i eventually got lost in all the different story lines. Luckily, I enjoy Goodman's narration, so it did not matter much.
Would you ever listen to anything by Christopher Fowler again?
Yes. I love the series. And parts of the book were very interesting, funny and endearing, as always.
What does Tim Goodman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Tim Goodman is a brilliant narrator. I love each and every character he created with his voice in this series.
If this book were a film would you go see it?
Yes.
