He really is a perfect match for Reid.
Vanessa is not a narrator i have listened to that much. But she does sound young and bubbely and just how Lina is.
This was abit different from the last book in the Brutal series.
Its written in abit of a lighter tone. That doesn't mean it doesn't hit deep. Because the emotional level is just as high. Reid is from the bad part of the Sebastian clan. He is Reynard's son. I thought he would be like a black sheep. But oh no. He is just a man trying to survive a tyrant. And come out a good man on the other side. He is really fighting bad odds with a father like that. If ever there was a fictional character i wanted to punch. That would be him. His view on women, the world, his family. His sons. Wow, it hurts how he looks at them. I know Laurelin will give us some answers. And we get some hints in this book. I just Hope in time we get the full story.
Once again i must say. Laurelin has this way of putting special vise women in her books. I love how strong and confident Lina's mother is. Giulia is the strongest woman. She is so secure in her worth as a woman. She has lived, loved. And raised a strong young daughter, who is secure about what she wants in life. Its a pleasure to read.

Loved the book and thoroughly enjoyed the audio.
This time we have Reid, the first of Reynards side of the family.
With the feud still firmly in place between the seniors of the Sebastian clan, the Children try to keep to peace, well lost of them do.
Lina is brought into the family by manage of her mother to Samuel, Reynard’s Brother. So when she finds of the guy she had chosen to take her V card is the son not the enemy, this doesn’t go down well, more so for the fact he refuses to take the big V and leaves her standing.
Great story for this pairing, they clearly have an undeniable connection and can’t stay away from one another, no matter how much self sabotage they try.
Once they give in they have no choice but to keep it a secret, some are better than others in doing so.
You know it’s all going to go to crap when people find out and this one sure goes
With a bang.
Lots of fun with this one with some laughs along the way.

This is a Grumpy/sunshine, age gap, romance with lots of heat, it also has lots of humour. Reid is an alphahole, but is also quite vulnerable, having the bad luck of having the dreadful Raynard as his parent. He’s delightfully filthy in the bedroom, but also very cute out of it, which makes him almost perfect. Lina is adorable, she’s funny, and insecure, but also driven and determined, her internal and external monologues are hilarious, and to be fair what woman hasn’t at some point in their life worried about belly-button hygiene? 🤣
There are a few twists and turns, some drama along the way, and of course a HEA. There aren’t any cliff hangers, but there are a lot of unresolved mysteries and secrets which I’m sure will be explored in later novels.
The narrator’s were great, Jason Clarke is perfect as Reid, his lovely gravelly voice, and Vanessa Edwin is perfect as Lina, young, light, and at times talks very fast.
Well worth a credit.
