Story
In The Interior Castle, Carmelite nun, mystic, and patron saint of Spain Teresa of Ávila uses the metaphor of a giant crystal castle to explain her theory of the soul and the various stages it passes through as it progresses towards God. Beginning in the outer rooms, where demons are fought and vices are purged, the soul must reach the inner chambers, where it will enter betrothal and intimate union with God. Prayer is central to the journey, as the soul is guided by its practice and each phase represents a different category of devotion.

It’s about yearning to learn more about the faith by seeking out “Catholic cool” - overlooked saints, forgotten prayers and feast days, and traditional practices long set aside by mainstream believers. The Catholic Hipster Handbook will help listeners realize the only way to go against what’s normal and accepted in the culture is to be authentically Catholic.

Nearly 40 years ago, Ralph Martin's best-selling A Crisis of Truth exposed the damaging trends in Catholic teaching and preaching that, combined with attacks from secular society, threatened the mission and life of the Catholic Church. While much has been done to counter false teaching over the last four decades, today the church faces even more insidious threats from outside and within. In A Church in Crisis: Pathways Forward, Martin offers a detailed look at the growing hostility to the Catholic Church and its teaching.

Story
Participation in God's life! Some value the thought as the very goal of the gospel. It's like unbiblical mysticism was mistrusted by others. What is true? What is true? Here we will present a biblical case for maximum intimacy with God: divine participation. We shall discuss the precious faith of unity with God, which gives us such participation; we shall stress the role of Christ as Mediator, promising and establishing this relationship; we should understand how this friendship is shared in the Church corporeally, but also briefly, as we will "be face to face" only in the end.

This audiobook is a MUST !
- By Peggy Whitehead on 18-05-20
Summary
Only two in 10 Americans under 30 believe attending a church is important or worthwhile. Well over half of young adults raised in the Church have dropped out, with many having a strong anti-Church stance, many even believing the Church does more harm than good. Fr. Josh Johnson was one of these people. In Broken and Blessed, he tackles the harsh realities facing the Church in the 21st century.
With charity and courage, he speaks to his own generation of Catholic millennials, who often feel their needs and concerns are not being addressed by the Church or simply do not believe the Catholic faith has any relevance to their lives. Using his own experiences, both as a former struggling young Catholic and as a priest, Fr. Josh offers an inspiring witness of how he came to know God, rather than just knowing about him, and presents practical ways for us to truly know God as well.
Broken and Blessed:
- Addresses head-on millennials' most pressing issues with the Catholic faith
- Presents powerful and inspiring stories from Fr. Josh's own faith journey
- Shows how one can truly encounter Jesus in a personal way
- Offers practical insights on how to overcome habitual sins
- Discusses the nature of prayer, as well as the challenges to prayer and how to overcome them

I was expecting social commentary and religion. While it did have some of this, it was so much more. Instead it was a love letter from the Church to the Laity, a love letter from God to Humanity, and had some of the best spiritual development tips I have ever heard at the end of each Chapter.
