Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

In Boys Don't Cry, best-selling author Malorie Blackman explores the unchartered territory of teenage fatherhood.

You're waiting for the postman - he's bringing your A-level results. University, a career as a journalist - a glittering future lies ahead. But when the doorbell rings, it's your old girlfriend and she's carrying a baby. Your baby.

You're happy to look after it, just for an hour or two. But then she doesn't come back - and your future suddenly looks very different.

Malorie's dramatic novel will take you on a journey from tears to laughter and back again.

Real men cry

First Malorie Blackman's book I read/hear and I'm grateful for it. Beautiful story. Beautiful characters. Beautiful Emma.

Fabulous narration

Wow. I knew this would be good, but the narration delivered by two top professionals elevated this book to something truly special. Don’t hesitate… I’m 56 and LOVED it!!!

Boys don't cry

Engaging. Some plot development was telegraphed, and some of the dialogue felt watered down for kids, but the characters grow on you as the story develops. Good narration.

To all young men....

Finished! A beautiful book with warmth and love. This book must be read. It covers so many issues of homophobia, real men do cry, not being afraid to ask for help, loneliness, and so on.
It was a wonderful book which brought me to tears ❤️
And to all fathers and sons, it is okay to hug and say I love you. Xxx

Fun, moving and entertaining

I stumbled on this audio book accidentally but a quick listen the sample hooked me. A modern day story of a boy and his family presented with a major challenge and peppered with another personal journey by the boy’s brother. Excellently narrated by Theo and Omari and very well written by Malorie. Really very good indeed.
