About this listen

But when her friends start to drift away, Carr learns an important lesson: kindness can open more doors than bossing ever could! This heartwarming story is perfect for children aged 3-5, teaching them about empathy, friendship, and the joy of working together.
Ideal for preschoolers, kindergartners, and parents looking for stories that inspire positive values, Bossy Boots is sure to become a family favorite. Discover how Carr's big heart grows as she finds the true magic in being kind!
©2024 Jake Senghera (P)2024 2024What I love:
• The illustrations are vibrant, charming, and full of expressive detail—perfect for capturing a preschooler’s attention.
• The story strikes a wonderful balance between simple vocabulary and engaging rhythm, making it ideal for early literacy development. Likewise, the repeated phrases are great for word recognition and memory.
• The gentle, relatable theme (like sharing, exploring, bedtime, or feeling brave) is exactly what a young child needs to hear and understand through a supportive, reassuring narrative.
Why it stands out:
My child often asks to read it again, which I consider a sign of a true “keeper” in our bedtime routine. The pacing is just right—not too long to lose interest, yet meaty enough to spark conversation. I also appreciate positive messaging about emotions and imagination without being preachy.
A few caveats:
At around 30 pages, it may be slightly long for some 4-year-olds, and a few of the more detailed illustrations might need explaining by an adult. But these are minor drawbacks in an otherwise lovely read.
Overall: Highly recommended! It’s a charming addition to any toddler or preschool library—one that encourages both learning and loving story time together to make our children learn the importance and significance of our behaviour on others.
Very useful to learn how we act affects others
