About this listen

As a free-spirited, independent woman, Bronnie Ware was used to donning a variety of hats: singer, songwriter, author, speaker, traveller and adventurer. And as her soul would have it in her mid-40s, she felt the urge to add one more, mother.

Ware, author of The Top Five Regrets of the Dying, had learned many lessons as a palliative-care giver, and she began to absorb even more from the opposite end of the spectrum as a giver of life. Only a few moments into motherhood, however, Ware’s body had a different idea, when chronic crippling pain from an auto-immune disease took hold.

In this inspiring memoir, Ware reminds us that whether life’s lessons arrive through illness, trauma or any other unexpected upheaval, life really does love us. By finding the courage to confront her upper limits, surrender to life’s blessings and have gratitude every step of the way, Ware discovered how to bloom in a field of formidable challenges.

As a fellow sufferer of RA I listened to this book with eager interest. Beautifully narrated I could empathise whole heartedly with Bronnies story.
Knowing someone else had also had the same difficulties was very comforting. The link between wellness and the mind have always been known to me, this book really helped drive that home and remind me the blessing that can come from a seemingly dark and scary place. It’s given me real hope that one day I can peel back all my layers and surrender to what is. Thank you Bronnie.

Beautifully heartfelt and a reminder to our souls to be authentic.

I very much enjoyed this book and appreciated Bronnie sharing her story. I suffer with pain that I feel hasn’t been helped by not listening to my body or being true to myself. This book has served as a gentle reminder of the importance of this, and has inspired me to start doing the same. After years of putting everything and everyone else first until I burnt out it feels great to listen and be kind to myself. Thank you Bronnie.

Beautiful book.
