About this listen

Alex Tinsdill never thought a simple DNA test would lead to a $250 million inheritance and Cove Point Manor, a massive estate built during the Gilded Age on the Gold Coast of Long Island, New York.

Alex's inheritance doesn't come without a cost however, as two greedy relatives soon show up, determined to separate Alex from his new found riches. Cove Point Manor has a dark past, and a sinister secret which is about to be revealed!

Bloodlines: Cove Point Manor is a fast-paced book that mixes the supernatural with just the right amount of dark humor.

This story was about the ghost of a previous owner who haunted the house where she died. Her grandson inherits the house and she tries to protect him from unscrupulous people who would take advantage of him.

I really enjoyed listening to this story. I was hoping for a little more tension with the haunting theme, but it wasn’t terribly scary.
Bill does a great job with the narration and tells the story well.
A nice, easy listen!
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.

An amusing book, with a bit of paranormal, funny episodes and some great characters. Alex inherits Cove Point Manor and soon his "friends" come to stay, however the resident ghost is not that keen on them. What follows is a story with amusing episodes , a romantic interest for Alex and a well narrated tale that brought to life the characters.

Young Canadian Alex Tinsdale was surprised, when contacted by a solicitor, to learn that a Y chromosome DNA test revealed him to be the long sought after heir to an inheritance, a mansion in New York called Cove Point Manor. Although empty since the 1920s, it had been kept in good relair. Worth several million dollars, the building was huge as well as beautiful. Unknown to Alex, it also came with a ghost.

Bloodlines: Cove Point Manor is a lighthearted , funny book with clearly defined heroes (Alex) and villains (a mother-daughter couple out for all they can get) and the ghost protecting her home. Although an haunted house story, it is not one which is scary in the slightest, concentrating far more on the antics of the protagonists. It is very visual, making a clear film in the mind. The pleasure of the story is further increased by the superb narration of Bill Nevitt, whose easy to listen to voice gives fully distinctive and appropriate voicing to every one of the characters as well as following the emotional excitement of the text. An excellent performance.

There are some small inconsistencies in the plot - medical privacy, or lack of, for example, and the change of a necklace from emerald to diamond - but this is fiction, a piece of fun not a serious study, and as such can be given a little leeway. If (very slightly romantic) comedies with a touch of the paranormal to help the action along are your thing, you are going to love this. My thanks to the rights holder of Bloodlines: Cove Point Manor, who, at my request, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy. It was an easy, pleasurable listen and I look forward to the next in the series.

I enjoyed this book!!!
This is the first story I have read/heard by this author but it won't be the last. I heard it all in two days as it was a nice easy listen. The story was unusual and I enjoyed the spooky goings on.
Alex has inherited a haunted manor and when two unwanted guest turn up for a visit things get interesting.
The narrator was very good and really brought the characters to life and with the detailed descriptions it was easy to form a picture in my mind.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook from the narrator in exchange for an impartial review.
