This narrator plays the part of creepy narcissistic sociopath to a tee!

Good story made even better by the narrator

Great narrator

Paul Strom, the main character in the book was the most obnoxious, arrogant, chauvinistic prat ever!! He cannot possibly love anybody at all because his love is all focussed on himself. Having said that, some of the things he says are so outrageous that I just had to laugh out loud!
The story was a good one and kept me wanting to listen more just to find out if he was going to fall. The ending was good and satisfying.
Good choice of narrator, he was really believable as the character and had all the right inflections in his tone. He really got into character and sounded like he enjoyed narrating the book too.
I think this would make a good TV drama.

*Spoilers*
You would think the author has had many years of experience of working with people with narcissistic personality disorder it's so well written but I don't think she has. Unless she has had personal experience of course. I'm glad that she recognised that although highly dangerous, someone with Paul's condition is highly susceptible to failure and a failure to see the obvious due to his literally blinding narcissism. A trait which many stories and movies ignore for storytelling reasons. I have only one small gripe which is I honestly don't think Paul would have been able to successfully take down an ex special ops guy with a surprise stranglehold...

Brilliantly written & engrossing.

I read this book in one day. From the minute you are introduced to Paul and Mira an unsettling feeling begins to loom. Having been in a relationship that was just as toxic I thank my lucky stars I found the strength to leave. Unfortunately, I didn't have a wealthy family to help me! Paul's playlist sent shivers down my spine. For every Mira out there, this is how to escape and for every Paul out there, get yourself some therapy!
Great read.

Best page turner in a very long time.
