Summary

Half witch, half werewolf, all attitude.

My name's Tamara Bentley, and I should be happy to be heading home for the holidays. Too bad tensions between the supernatural forces surrounding my hometown are at an all-time high - witches and werewolves, ancient enemies who would happily slaughter each other. One side fears me, the other doesn't know I exist, and I aim to keep it that way, lest they both decide to find common ground in killing me.

Now an offer for peace has been extended, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the two warring races to settle their differences. So, of course, someone is looking to screw it all up. Not only do they want to put an end to the fragile peace before it can even begin, but they're looking to shift the balance of power by blowing open the gates that protect our world from the things that lay beyond.

After a surprise attack leaves both sides crippled, me and my friends are the only ones left who can stop to their plans. Sadly, we're outnumbered and outgunned. Even my unique heritage might not be enough to save my family, my friends, and everything I hold dear before Hell itself is unleashed upon the Earth.

Absolutely loved it

Absolutely loved it, but then again I have loved every one of Rick Gualtieri's books so wasn't a big surprise. Looking forward to the next installment of Bent.

Second volume in an fantastic series.

Rick Gualtieri has created another fantasy universe with the Hybrid of High Moon series. This second installment was very enjoyable, expanding on the first and giving us a deeper understanding of each of the factions.
The character development is fantastic, dialogue is witty and fun. The story draws the reader in and keeps us engaged.

I look forward to future books in this series.

Bent is frustrating at times!

A easy story to get caught up in so much that you're yelling at the main character for doing/not doing something. There was a good plot twist near the end too.
Sometimes it was difficult to tell who was talking between Bent and Cass when they were talking to each other.
I'm looking forward to more stories/adventures of Bent.

Not your typical Christmas story

I really liked the first book in this series and after listening to this one, I can't wait for the third one. Poor Bent is looking forward to a relaxing winter break from college but what does she expect when the 2 sides of her family have more animosity than the Hatfields and Mccoys?

Kept me interested the whole time. No lag time between twist and turns in the story line

Good story, narrator needs practice.

I like where Gualtieri is going with this series. The characters are interesting and there's plenty of room for further development. I'm disappointed in Dulude's reading though.

All too often in the narration
you can tell when she hits the end of
a line of text
and has an unnatural pause
in the flow.

It's pretty distracting for me but not so much that I'd stop listening to this series.

Best penned series yet.

This is one of his best written series yet. Very well done. And for RG very little sophomoric humor that bad the Bill vampire books , that humor was a trademark but got tiring. Very, very good writing

great series but sub par narration

The narrator has this annoying habit of pausing after every second or third word.
I forced myself to finish but she really needs to even out her speach.
