I have no idea whether this is a good book or not. The narration sounds like a reading of the words with no empathy for what may well be an interesting set of characters, The monotone description of a beheading was the last straw. We gave in at that point.

There was a part where the main character was about to be shot and I didn’t notice.

The story maybe really good but it’s impossible to tell with this narration. A dull single paced monotone which means you have little idea who is saying what & there is no sense of drama or excitement. Avoid
