I enjoyed this book, and it is read beautifully. All of the family history, the European backdrop, but I think especially the intergenerational actions and reactions created by the backdrop of the time are fascinating. However, there were moments where I thought I was slipping into a Woolfian “proper dark”.
I would definitely recommend!
