But old hatreds and suspicions die hard. Butchering of the original

The paperback book was great. This version omits several chapters and important story elements and destroys the entire work. Avoid the audio book and read the paper back version.

Poorly done

Who ever did the editing knows nothing about the Battletech universe. They missed to many of the important subtleties that made these books great to read. The audio version has been a great disappointment.

Great intro to the clan invasion

I read these books when I was a kid and still to this day love the characters. It was so much more enjoyable listening to it being performed in this audio form. Stackpole is a great writer.

Good book. Good Series. Suffers from abridgement.

I can't complain about the reader. His performance is good and his voice is similar to that of the author's. It's the abridgment that hurts. It makes the story difficult to follow and damages its overall impact. Maybe another Battletech series would've been a better choice to record. One with fewer characters and a more linear narrative would've been easier to fit into the this three-hour format. For this reason I would've rated it even lower but this is the only Battletech series available in audio, and I enjoy the line. So if your looking for Btech to play in the car, this is it. Check it out. Then go buy the paperbacks. I'm sure Fasa and Stackpole would appreciate the shekels.

Abridged

Well presented, too abridged. Read the book, much more detail. The shadow of the tale.

Battletech Radio Drama

Heavily abridged , but the added effects make it more like a radio drama than just a book

Battletech fan, so I reckon I'm biased.

Listening to the series for the lore but staying for the war. Can't wait for vol 3.

Dated audio, still a very good story!<br />

As I said the audio is very dated. The story is good enough to make it more than worth the listen though!
