Summary

The ice planet has given me a second lease on life, so I'm thrilled to be here. Sure, there's no cheeseburgers, but I'm healthy and ready to be a productive member of the small tribe. What I didn't anticipate was that there'd be a savage stranger waiting nearby, watching me.

And when he takes me captive, the unthinkable happens . . . I resonate to him. Resonance means mating and children . . . but I don't know if this guy's ever been around anyone before. He's truly a barbarian in all ways, right down to clubbing me over the head and claiming me as his own. So why is it that I crave his touch and hunger for more?

Contains mature themes.

Where there is love .......

Absorbing series; adventures in a strange land, communicating with strange beings and learning to love and cope. A pleasant cave by the sea is given up when birth is imminent. Dramatic, tear jerking tale. Book 5 here I come.

Top five alien series

Love this series since I found it in kindle, and I’m thrilled it’s in audio now. In this installment, We found out why Harlow mysteriously disappeared at the end of Barbarian Lover. We get to enjoy Harlow & Rukh’s story. Lloyd & Jackson do a very decent job of narration. I’m glad we get to hear this in the M/F voices.

Love these barbarians!

This fourth book in the IcePlanet Barbarian series was really entertaining! The heroine is clubbed over the head by a loner warrior at the end of book 3. It’s really better to listen to these stories in order of release, in order to get the full story. When she wakes up to a naked, unkempt alien staring at her, she’s appalled to find she’s resonating with him. He doesn’t speak the Sakui language either! Gradually, she cleans him p and teaches him words and they fall in love. The complications arise when she becomes pregnant and falls ill. He’s been taught by his father not to trust the “bad ones”, the other Sakui on the planet. Can he overcome his fathers teachings to get her the help she needs from the healer? Narration was well performed.

A consistently romantic and entertaining series.

This is book 4 in the ICE PLANET BARBARIAN SERIES and while each story stands alone, I recommend they be read in order, if possible. This is Harlow and Rukh’s story and the warm cocoon of love they build is as lovely as the other stories that precede it. The difference is, this couple gets to know each other away from the clan and the relationship they build is unique and thoroughly enjoyable. Narrators Hollie Jackson and Mason Lloyd do a wonderful job bringing the characters to life. Having read thousands of historical and contemporary romances, for a while there I struggled to find something new to interest me. This series has been a welcome and unexpected boost to my romance listening enjoyment. Thanks Ruby Dixon! I recommend this series.

Is it just me?

I love this series. I was hoping to listen to the whole series through audible and catch up from where I left off reading many years ago. I listened to the first two, months ago. I had to take a break... I skipped the third book because it was my least favorite. I picked back up with this one and I just don’t think I can continue listening. I can’t stand Hollie Jackson’s narrating. It must just be me, because she is everywhere and she narrates this whole freaking series. I’m constantly passing on books when I see she is the narrator, I thought I could just push through, but she really ruins the story for me. Because the things that annoy me about her voice and the way she says things, transfers to the characters, and I end up thinking the book isn’t as good because of it. Other than that, this is a great addition to the series if we’re only talking about the story.

This is probably my favorite story out of the series so far. I was so sad for his loneliness. Their story was so heartfelt and heartbreaking. Great read. Would recommend.

The cave by the sea

I just loved this one! I wasn’t expecting to love the feral brother but what a big ole sweetie. The language barrier In the audio just makes the story so much better! Love the blue Barbarians!

Harlow gets cave-manned By Tarzan Rouk

You have to suspend belief a bit for this series about campy alien romance. In this book, Harlow gets konked on the head and hauled off by a Sakui who was raised apart from the tribe of blue suede hunks. Although still a good story, it feels like we’re back tracking a bit. The language gained in the last three books is gone, so Harlow and Rouk are back to hand gestures. We’re also back to dirty beast mode, and not in a good way. Rouk has never taken a bath and I had to work to ignore my brain as it imagined the stink. And, we’re back to a two person story, with most of this book having Harlow and Rouk alone together. I did like that Harlow gets to take the lead and control the speed of their pairing. Also, once I sped the narration to 1.3x, Harlow’s “husky” drawl sounded much better. Hollie is a fantastic narrator with an amazing variety of voices, but Harlow and Marlene’s voices are two that grated on me.
