Story
Face the Music is the shocking, funny, smart, inspirational story of one of rock’s most enduring icons and the group he helped create. Stanley mixes compelling personal revelations and gripping, gritty war stories that will surprise even the most steadfast member of the KISS Army. He takes us back to his childhood in the 1950s and 60s, a time made more painful thanks to a physical deformity. Born with a condition called microtia, he grew up partially deaf, with only one ear. But this instilled in him an inner drive to succeed in the most unlikely of pursuits: music.

I’ve watched men change from confident, decisive, and action-oriented lions to second-guessing, scared-of-their-shadows, don’t-rock-the-boat mice. They don’t feel confident in relationships, work environments - or anywhere. Men are either looking for something or running from something; maybe a bit of both. Well, it’s time to stop running. A Great Insight into Paul's Life
I loved getting an insight into Paul's life on and off the road. It shows that even rock stars have things to deal with in life as they go through life's trials and tribulations. Paul's life experiences I could relate to few of them as I'm at that point in my life so it's good to hear his thoughts on the situations. I'm a huge Kiss and Paul Stanley fan, this book is a must have for fans wanting to get to know more about Paul's life. I liked the narrator as I could hear the emotion, what would have made it even better for me though is Paul Stanley himself reading this book I would have given 5 stars for performance then x

WTF?
A rockstar talking about how great his life is, and how we should live our lives, and his so-called zen like existence. Droning on and on about it! Even to the point of how he makes meatballs and meatloaf? Really? Is this what people came to read about!?
Please!! this is terrible audio book that I did NOT expect to be about Paul Stanley bragging about himself incessantly. Once one of my teen heroes in the band kiss in the 70s, I think he should seriously consider retiring from the public guy entirely.
Stop beating up the two guys who got you to where you are today. You’ve made it abundantly clear how you feel about Peter Criss and Ace Frehley. One has retired, and one is arguably playing a lot better today than you are today. Yet you are a backhanded comments about them or about is the tackiest thing I have possibly ever heard.
You should be forever and only thanking those 24 had you not found them KISS May very well have never existed, and you and all of your issues and shortcomings would’ve just been that for the rest of your life. Celebrate those that got you there man. You have an opportunity to simply make it right for the rest of your life. Do that and I’ll try to sit through the next book that you write. Oh yeah you couldn’t even be bothered to narrate your own audiobook that’s barely 4 hours.? Wow! I’m truly sorry I wasted a credit on this book.

This is book is autobiographical/life lessons/experiences from Paul Stanley, and should be read by Paul Stanley. The way this is read makes it truly painful to listen to. The book and the wisdom within are fantastic, the performance of the reader makes it unlistenable. Booooooo!

Pretty good. I guess I have a problem with it cuz Paul says "if you're gonna do anything, do it 100%". I believe, if you're gonna sell an audiobook, you shouldn't have someone else read it.

Wisdom from the Conveyor Belt
When I first started listening to this I thought "Oh this is the stuff that didn't make the first book." As it went on, I feel this is Paul Stanley realizing that our days are numbered and he wanted to pour some wisdom on you. With this in mind, its not a bunch of leftovers. Full disclosure - I've been a fan since 1976
I love that he is honest enough to point out the time when he was (as he put it) "a dick." I love to hear about his philosophies on raising children (especially through a divorce). I often was walking around the neighborhood listening to this and thinking, "I need to be someplace to write this down" as he would often drop a line that was somewhat bumper sticker worthy, but it was SO TRUE. If you read both Paul and Gene's (bass player in Kiss) books you will see a common thread - these guys roll up their sleeves and do the work. With this in mind, even if you're not a Kiss fan I think you'll get something out of this (and make you hungry for meatloaf).
At the end of the book, Paul talks about his relationship with Gene. It was very touching and shows that you can co-exist with people who occasionally drive you nuts.
I am still bummed about how they handled their Rock Hall Introduction (and not playing). Paul said it would be like spending a night with someone you divorced. In his book, he mentions about dealing with kids in the divorce. What is more important, your hate of your spouse or the love of your child? To this, I say, What was more important the hate of your previous bandmates, or your love for your fans? Water under the bridge... but as a fan, I found that disappointing.
I can't wait for the next "Post Kiss" (as they are on the farewell tour) book from Paul.

A surprise
I love KISS. So naturally I'll support what they do. Not fanatically, but I'm a supporter. I read Paul's first book, and it was good. So when I heard this one was coming, and that it was going to be kind of philosophical and self help-ish, I of course was skeptical. Guess what? He pulled it off. There's an insight in this book that I am surprised exists in this guy. The self help part, for people looking for it, could be helpful. The part about remaining positive is the part that I think most people will be taken with. A good listen, do yourself a favor and buy it. You got nothin' to lose. (Kiss fans will understand that reference)

Rambling Life Lessons By Paul Stanley
A book that is so bad, Paul Stanley did not read it himself unlike Face the music.
Seriously, I expected decent follow-up to Face the music and backstage stories about KISS. I don't care about his ideas on how to properly raise a child in an interfaith marriage. Fell asleep several times trying to get through the book. Wish I could trade it.
