Look, A pair of Elder Entities pulled Duke out of the burning wreck of his fighter jet because they thought it would be fun to send him instead of responding to a summoning ritual themselves. I'm sure you can guess how well that worked out for Duke, but life in a LitRPG fantasy world isn't all that bad.

He got to meet an imprisoned Archmage, get sent to the Capitol to investigate just how corrupt the King and the whole nobility was. You can guess how well that worked out for Duke.

He even got to find the last remaining dungeon on all of Teldin. Sure, the dungeon has been aging the power of all its denizens for thousands of years. You can guess how well that worked out for Duke.

Still, he got to rescue an entire Legion from being trapped in the dungeon including their fiercely strong and fiercely beautiful commander. That actually kinda worked out for Duke.

He even got another Entity interested in him who decided to steal Duke from the influence of the first pair of Entities. You can guess how that worked out for Duke.

So, he winds up fighting across the Cosmos since somebody put a Cosmic bounty on his head. You'll have to listen to find out how that worked out for Duke.

There are so many weird continuity issues and the pacing is a mess if feels like poorly edited ai slop. The narrator is fantastic though really putting effort in not sure how he can do so much with this. I keep coming back to try more of this to see if I'm wrong but just bizarre decisions and conclusions abound. Whatever I could be wrong maybe that's just how it feels for me

I don't really understand the positive reviews on the individual books
