Before the internet told you what to eat, what to take, and what to fear—somebody’s grandmother already knew. And she learned it from her grandmother.

Ash & Honey: The Root and The Road is a history podcast about healing. Not wellness. Not optimization. Healing—the kind with a lineage, a name, and a reason that predates the algorithm selling it back to you.

Hosted by Alexandria Quinn Love, M.A.—historian, formulator, and founder of Ash & Honey Botanique—this show digs into the pre-industrial record: Greek Humorism, Ayurveda, Celtic and Pictish traditions, the raw economics of medieval medicine, and the specific plants that kept people alive before the supplement aisle existed. Then, we turn that same lens on what’s circulating on your feed. Not to tear it down, but to find out where the real thing went—and what got stripped out between the source and the shelf.

The body is not separate from the mind. The mind is not separate from the emotion. The emotion is not separate from the season.

Some episodes are history. Some are honest. Some are both. Some are just real life crossing the microphone, because an integrated life doesn't perform for production value.

Take everything with a grain of salt. Including this.

The road was always there. Someone always walked it. Now—so do you.

We told you to take everything with a grain of salt—including us. If you disagree with the history, have a question about a formulation, or want to share what your own grandmother kept in her medicine cabinet, our inbox is open. Keep it honest.

Two thousand years ago, Hippocrates combined honey and vinegar into a single remedy called oxymel — and modern researchers just confirmed what he already knew: together, they work dramatically better than either one alone. That's also the story of this show.

Ash & Honey: The Root and The Road is the merger of two podcasts — the original Ash & Honey Podcast and Root & The Road — hosted by Alexandria Quinn Love, M.A., historian, formulator, and founder of Ash & Honey Botanique. In this founding episode, Alexandria lays out exactly why two shows built on the same philosophy, the same pre-industrial standard, and the same voice were never really separate to begin with — and what this unified show is going to be.

That means the real history first: Greek Humorism, Ayurveda, and two ancient medical systems that never separated the body from the mind, the emotion, or the season. It means a strict history-first corrective lens on what crosses your feed. And it means honesty — the kind that includes a personal origin story told here, plainly, for the last time, before this show moves forward.

This isn't a wellness podcast. It's a history podcast about healing. And it's going to range — because life determines some of what crosses this microphone, and the body, the mind, the emotions, and the seasons were never separate to begin with.

Ash & Honey: The Root and The Road is hosted by Alexandria Quinn Love, M.A. — historian, formulator, and founder of Ash & Honey Botanique.
