Leap Castle has been called Ireland's most haunted home. Given its history, that's not hard to believe.
A priest murdered at the altar. A hidden pit filled with the bones of the forgotten. A creature so disturbing that even those who share the castle with it urge caution.
Seán and Anne Ryan bought the ruins in 1991. They are still there. They have heard things they cannot explain - voices in an old Irish dialect, the sounds of a gathering they cannot locate. They seem at peace with it all.
I visited on a sunny morning in August 2024. The cats were out. Nothing answered when I called. But something is there. And its owner knows it.
