The Legacy Begins is a historical fiction novel set in 10th century England, during a period of political instability, invasion, and shifting power. The story centers on Wulfric Beaumont, a loyal and capable knight whose personal choices set in motion the rise of a family line that will shape generations to come.
As England faces external threats from Norman invaders and internal tensions among the nobility, Wulfric distinguishes himself through courage, discipline, and unwavering loyalty to the crown. His service earns him land, status, and responsibility, but advancement brings new dangers. Rivalries emerge—most notably with a jealous prince—and Wulfric must defend not only his estate but also his honor and the king's trust.
Alongside the political and military conflict, the novel emphasizes family and legacy. Wulfric's marriage provides moral grounding and support as pressures mount, highlighting the personal costs of ambition and duty. As his influence grows, the narrative gradually widens beyond a single life to the foundations of a dynasty. The book concludes by positioning Wulfric's son, Wulfnop, as the first of the De Wusters, signaling the birth of what will become the Wooster family legacy.
