About this listen

Good morning. Rhode Island. I'm Aaron Jolly. That drizzle overnight? Just the opening act. The real show starts this morning. In the next 24 hours. Fog rolls in between 8 and 10. Then rain settles in for the day. Providence hits 37 degrees — about 25 degrees cooler than normal for early March. Down at Narragansett Bay, you're looking at 38 with east winds gusting to 22 miles an hour. That damp breeze will make it feel closer to the upper 20s. If you're in northwest Rhode Island, listen up. A Winter Weather Advisory kicks in at 5 P.M. For Northwest Providence and Western Kent. Rain could mix with sleet or freezing rain overnight. Friday morning's commute might get slippery in those spots. Tonight the rain picks up. Providence could see a half inch to three quarters of an inch. Temperatures hold steady in the low to mid 30s, but that east wind makes it feel like 25. Friday stays gray and damp with highs in the mid 30s. But here's where it gets interesting. High pressure builds in this weekend. Saturday climbs near 50. Sunday pushes into the mid 50s. And Tuesday? We're talking 63 degrees. Spring's knocking on the door — the equinox is just two weeks out. For coastal folks, high tide at Newport hits 25 degrees.6 feet at 8:56 this morning. And if the clouds break tonight, look up. It's a Full Moon. If you found this helpful, a quick rating really helps us out. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves.
