He’s Kelli’s partner’s kid and he left home at the age of fourteen to play hockey to eventually go pro. JJ has navigated a pretty unusual teen life diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at fifteen where he played half a year undiagnosed, lost thirty pounds and had to figure out how to fuel his body for playing.
