About this listen

Once upon a mountain in Norway, when trolls were still believed to roam in nature, a miner named Bjorn took a beautiful pink stone from the mountain to give to his beloved Elin.

Years later, their daughter Kari and her friends Louisa, Torsten, and Ottar grew up playing together, but their innocence was broken after a near fatal accident involving Torsten and Ottar.

Nine years after the accident, the four of them were still friends; however, things changed again when Torsten went into the forest for snowdrops and disappeared. Sadly, that was just the beginning of the misfortunes, as Kari’s mother Elin grew sick, and as she lay dying, she told Kari to return the beautiful pink stone to the heart of the mountain, for only then would Torsten return.

While navigating profound grief, Kari takes the pink stone, which has been nothing but a bedknob for almost eighteen years, and goes on a journey to find not only Torsten but also a way to go on with her life after knowing she will never see her beloved mother again until her own dying day.
