The Cleveland Cavaliers made their first big move of the trade deadline, sending De'Andre Hunter to the Sacramento Kings for Dennis Schroeder and Keon Ellis. Schroeder offers the Cavs Darius Garland insurance as well as the ability to manage Donovan Mitchell's minutes down the stretch as he has been heavily relied on all season. Ellis is a near elite 3 and D player who profiles as a key rotation player off the bench.
Hunter was a source of frustration with Cavs fans, seemingly the perfect SF compliment to the Core 4 but never quite giving the team what they needed from him. This season was especially disappointing as Hunter is having his least efficient ofensive season of his career.
