This sermon traces God’s justice through the oracles against Damascus, Gaza, Tyre, Edom, Ammon, and Moab, and shows how these judgments ultimately point us to Jesus Christ. Christ is revealed as the righteous Judge, the innocent Sufferer who bore judgment at the cross, the true Israel, and the only refuge for sinners. Outside of Christ, the roar is terror; in Christ, it is safety and peace.
