Matthew Lillard got the kind of Hollywood love most actors only read about in awkward eulogies, all because Quentin Tarantio... that self-appointed oracle of cinema declared he “didn’t care for” Lillard, Owen Wilson, or Paul Dano, and went so far as to single Dano out as the “weakest male actor in SAG."
Lillard, instead of hiding under a rock like he’d been verbally vaporized by some random internet troll, got a tidal wave of affectionate tributes from stars and fans alike. Tarantino might fancy himself a cinephile prophet, but his take looks less like fearless critique and more like the cranky declarations of an aging fanboy still hung up on his own greatest hits.
For this, Tarantio should feel shame, shame, shame.
