SEASON 1/EPISODE 1: Run, Jump & Fly - “How Taking Little Leaps of Faith Lets you Accomplish BIG THINGS”
Welcome to Season 1: Episode 1, the Inaugural episode of WOMB.S (Women Of Many Backgrounds. Surviving). This podcast is dedicated to women, surviving. Period! It’s a space where women birth stories, strength and sisters in solidarity.
I’m your hostess, Y. Janene Ash. In today's episode, we explore faith. What it is, and what it ain't!
In essence, faith connects the seen with the unseen, it is the motivating commitment and trust in something greater than oneself, even when full understanding or proof isn't present. It is a belief in things yet revealed. Zadiyah and I have stepped out on faith with this podcast. We are looking to commune with women unafraid to tap into the inherent feminine strength that EVERY WOMAN POSSESSES...even in the midst of personal struggles, successes and victories, weaknesses, roadblocks, setbacks, losses, defeats, traumas and pains. All of that!
Strong faith and constitution comes from active and concerted efforts at strengthening your faith. How do I do that you might ask? Well, although every woman’s walk in faith is different, there are basic practices and habits which will help you strengthen and maintain your faith throughout your journey.
- Immerse Yourself in Sacred Readings: Set a consistent schedule, even if it is just five minutes a day, to read and reflect on the wisdoms in sacred texts and books which improve your mental and spiritual vibration.
- Maintain Consistent Prayer: Establish a "two-way street" by speaking to your Creator through prayer and listening for a response through your intuition and confirmations. Pray honestly, without holding back your fears or doubts.
- Practice Meditation: Ponder specific ideas and thoughts until their meaning is internalized.
- Establish Programming Mantras: Daily mantras are an excellent way to “trick” your mind into a mode which serves your best interests. They allow you to be your own cheerleader and pep-talker, so to speak.
- Engage in Worship and Thanksgiving: Start your day by praising and thanks for provisions and protection. Giving thanks is a powerful proof of faith. A mind centered on gratefulness has less room for fear…otherwise known as lack of faith.
- Gather with Other Women of Faith: Faith is often strengthened through "iron sharpening iron" relationships. Regularly communing with a like-minded small group provides essential encouragement and accountability.
- Seek a Mentor: Find a spiritually mature person you can learn from and talk with. The saying goes – “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”.
- Practice Vulnerability: Be open about your challenges with trusted friends, counselors or confidants.
- Establish a “Fearless & Faithful” Friend: Surround yourself with women who consistently remind you that “you got this Queen”, and who mean that.
