I listened to it twice, the first time without the text (for the challenge) and the second time with it. Everything was so clear, I barely had any trouble understanding the words, even without reading them. The hard part is keeping track of what’s happening due to the complex language. But it’s not impossible if you listen to it with proper attention.
The narration is very engaging; it’s evident who’s speaking in every dialogue, and you can feel all the drama. When I listened whilst reading, I also noticed I would have had a harder time reading on my own. The narration truly helps to make sense of it all.
The student guide is super fun (and adorable). However, I must admit I expected it to have a bit more information, like important details I missed or parts that were not easy to get on a first read. Instead, it served as a thumbs-up to everything I had already grasped. Still, it’s a nice and light touch after all three books, and it’s obviously well-planned and well-written.
