About this listen

Camis, run! Do not use mindspeak—just run!

And he had, running blindly into the night and the rain. But as he sits and waits to be called back, he wonders, not for the first time, who he is running from.

Serin is in shock, this is not the way she thought her life would turn out. Yes, it was a hard life but it was her own. She never thought he would find her after all this time. How will she keep Camis safe now? Nenna is angry, she seems to be perpetually angry these days but people just don't seem to be doing anything and she is tired of waiting for the elders to make decisions. Now it's time for her to take some action. As the three of them each navigate the treacherous terrain of two very different worlds they come face to face with the reality that one man could destroy them all, D’Ruja A’Riman.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. The writing style is smooth and engaging. The story flows naturally, and the pacing fits the narrative perfectly. It never felt rushed or too slow; it moved exactly how it needed to.

The characters are well developed, and one of the things I liked most was how we keep learning more about them as the story goes on. They’re not just introduced and left flat, they grow, reveal things, and stay interesting. The world-building is big and detailed, but it's done in a way that’s easy to follow. I never felt lost or overwhelmed by it.

The narration was also excellent. The voice actor really captured the tone of the story and brought the atmosphere to life. Their performance fit so well with the overall mood—it made the whole experience even more immersive.

Overall, I really liked this book. Great story, great writing, and great narration. Definitely one I’d recommend.

I was skeptical about this book/audiobook at first as it is not the genre I normally read but lo and behold, it kept me hooked from start to finish.
The storytelling is vivid with an engaging plot. Every time I listened to this audiobook, it immediately transported me to a world of adventure and mystery. It made me wish that I too have the power of mind speak.

Excellent delivery of the reader for the audiobook.

The Song of Dawn by Colleen Ferguson is a spellbinding blend of speculative fiction, emotional depth, and immersive world-building. From the very first chapter, I was drawn into a richly imagined world that balances high-stakes drama with intimate character moments.

The characters are each compelling in their own right, and Colleen masterfully weaves their perspectives into a larger narrative filled with mystery, danger, and heart. The tension is constant, but it's the emotional complexity and personal stakes that truly make this story shine.

The audiobook narration is exceptional—clear, emotive, and perfectly paced. It enhanced every twist and revelation, making it hard to hit pause. I especially appreciated how the narrator captured the urgency and vulnerability of each character’s journey, making the experience feel deeply personal.

If you're a fan of fantasy that isn't afraid to ask big questions while keeping you on the edge of your seat, this audiobook is absolutely worth your time. The Song of Dawn is a beautifully told, unforgettable adventure—I can't wait to see where Ferguson takes us next.
