About this listen
The next instalment in the top 10 bestselling Cornish Midwife series!
A forever love...or a future dashed?
Midwife Ella Mehenick can’t wait to marry the love of her life, Dan Ferguson. They have both waited so long for their perfect day, and they know their future together will be everything they’ve ever dreamed of. But when Ella suddenly and unexpectedly collapses – all plans are put on hold.
Dan just wants Ella to get better, but Ella, so used to caring for others, struggles to accept she needs care herself. She doesn’t want Dan to give up everything for her and suddenly the life they dreamed of seems to be slipping through their fingers…
Once rock solid, Ella and Dan suddenly seem further apart than ever before. Can they find a path back to their happy ever after or will Ella’s change of heart risk everything they love?
A wonderfully heartwarming read perfect for fans of Jessica Redland, Holly Martin and Heidi Swain.

Jo has a great way of telling a story about difficult subjects in a sensitive way. A story that at times can make you cry and others make you smile.
Another wonderful Cornish midwife’s story

The only part I found strange about the book is that I felt there was a big back story to Leo that was missed or assumed the reader knew. His accident is referenced in the previous book too and again I thought I’d missed a chapter/other book. I spent a bit of time trying to find out if I’d missed a book or accompanying book that perhaps bled into another series of books. There is no extra book but I feel like there could have been.
I’m looking forward to final book in the series in July and will be sad to see the end of them but feel storylines are bring wrapped up nicely now so there’s no rush in the last book.
A wider look at relationships & parenthood
