About this listen

All the varieties of power—star, political, sexual, criminal and emotional—are on show in this definitive, untold story of Frank Sinatra and the Mafia.

Drawing on an enormous archive of previously unseen records held by international law agencies, the FBI, the CIA and big-city police departments, Rothmiller and Thompson reveal Sinatra’s pact with the Mob in shocking detail.

With additional evidence from decades of investigations and testimony, they expose Sinatra’s lifelong association with the Mafia, which he always denied, and its deadly collateral damage.

This revelatory showstopper is a wild dance made coherent by intelligent choreography. Sinatra may not have been an actual made man, but the Mafia certainly made him.

So not one review yet. how strange?
I 1st went to Vegas in the 80s with my parents walked past Dunes Sands, would have loved ti see the Ratpack live in Vegas. In these days, you could walk about at midnight on your own, wearing a fancy watch and have cash. Been to Vegas 3 more times since, now the mobsters portraits are in hanging up in the toilets at the Flamingo. I have read a lot of books about JFK and Monroe. I 100% feel that Kennedy was taken out by the FBI he was obsessed with Monroe, who was being used by Frank and his pals to get info. I also believe Monroe was killed as she knew too much about the Kennedys and the mobsters.
It's interesting that the Godfather was nearly never made, It was filmed in Sicily which is a amazing country to visit.
I enjoyed this book, the speaker was punchy and interesting, Was Vegas a better place in the 80s, for me 100% Yes. As Frank sang "I did it my way" Of course the million dollar question is, Did he? And am I allowed to say, my favourite Gangster film is the simply brilliant Music, Acting, Story, Once Upon a Time In America. Best thing Woods and De Niro have ever done.
